The young man was walking on the beach after a storm.
Nearby was an old gentleman stooping to pick up stranded starfish and tossing them back into the sea.
"Why are you doing that?" the young man asked. The old man replied: "If the starfish don't get back into the water they will die."
"What difference does it make? There are millions of them." The young man replied.
The old man smiled, picked up another, threw it into the water, looked up and said: "It made a difference to him."
What a changed world this would be if we each tried to make a difference in someone's life this year.

What about you?

THe true measure of loving..........
is to love without measure.
St Bernard of Clairvaux (Whoever that was)

It is absolutely necessary for every human being to be loved.
Your partner will never tire of hearing you tell him or her of your love. Tim LaHaye

Editors note: In today's convoluted world the word "partner" can mean the person with whom one is having a homosexual relationship.
Although the above truth prevails even in that context, God's word is true and the relationship is wrong.

The path of the righteous is like the first gleam of dawn, Shining ever brighter 'till the full light of day.
But the way of the wicked is like deep darkness; they do not know what makes them stumble.

Spare change? Consider yourself among the elite.
If you could shrink the Earth's population to a village of precisely 100 people, with all existing human ratios remaining the same, it would look something like this:

There would be 57 Asians, 21 Euoropeans, 14 from the Western Hemisphere, both north and south, eight Africans: 70 would be non white, 30 would be white; 70 would be non Christian. Six people would posess 59 percent of the entire world's wealth and all six would be from the United States.

Eighty would live in substandard housing, 70 would be unable to read, 50 would suffer from malnutrition, one would have a university education, one would own a computer.
If you woke up this morning with more health than illness, you are more blessed than the two million who will not survive this week.

If you have never experienced the danger of battle, the lonilness of imprisonment, the agony of torture or the pangs of starvation, you are ahead of 500 million people in the world.

If you have food in the referator, clothes on your back, a roof overhead and a place to sleep, you are richer than 75 percent of this world. If you have money in the bank, in your wallet, and spare change in a dish someplace, you are among the top 8 percent of the world's wealthy.

Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands.
Serve the Lord with gladness: come before His presence with singing.
Know ye that the Lord he is Go:
it is He that has made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of hi pasture.
Enter into His gates with thanksgiving and into His courts with praise: be thankful unto hi, and bless his name; For the Lord is goo; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endures to all generations.

"How could God let something like this happen" Referring to the attack of 9/11/01

"I say God is also angry when He sees something like this. I would say also for several years now Americans in a sense have shaken their fist at God and said, God, we want you out of our schools, our government, our business, we want you out of our marketplace." And God, who is a gentleman, has just quietly backed out of our national and political life, removing His hand of blessing and protection. We need to turn to God first of all and say, God, we're sorry we have treated you this way and we invite you now to come into our national life. We put our trust in you.We have trust in God on our coins, we need to practice it."

Blogger was having trouble again and wouldn't let me publish so yesterday I didn't.
I'm sure I had some good "stuff" swirling around in my head but like the echo on the mountain each time the thoughts circulated their way back through they were fainter until now they are gone.
My answering machine had a message on it when I returned home this evening. Little four year old patricia has a problem.
The incisions from her most recent surgery are bleeding.
Please pray with the rest of us that she will not need to endure another trip to the hospital. That the the mending will happen and Patricia, her Mom, Dad, and brother will have peace.

"And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up;

No one liners today, just keep Patricia on your mind, in your heart, and in your prayers.

(voices in my head) a poem
FEAR SAYS........

You're weak.
You always say you won't give in or give up
But you always do.
You'll fall flat on your face
Over and over and over.
You love the taste of dirt
You love to cause pain
Look at your face-
Is that the face of an overcomer?
No.
Overcomers' faces aren't streaked with bruises.
Wake up from your dream.
I always told you you'd never fly.
Now I get to laugh at you
As you lie bleeding on the ground.
Too bad your wings weren't real.

GOD SAYS

You are a beautiful overcomer
With the potential for all things.
You are a legacy and an example,
A dreamer and a thinker,
With wings and a spacious heart.
You have power in your small body
That will guide you through winding roads
And dark detours.
You always smile in the end.
I love who you are,
And I love who you are becoming.
Sail on angel girl.

The recent hiatus was not planned, but it was worth it!
Two of my favorite people have been occuping the room where my computer resides for several days.
The computer was not lonely however, since the grand daughters were constantly in communication with their freinds.
Last night A. J. was instant messaging with five of her freinds AND doing her homework!
They left ten minutes ago and I miss them.
God, safe journey for the children, their Mom and Bob.
