More than a dozen years, playing any position.
During half time, pre-game, post game,
Middle of the night
Win lose or draw never quit
Now, it's like I wasn't even there, not even warming the bench.
Trash, blowing across the playing field
Is the game over?
Did it ever start?
The only yelling I hear is not the cheers
It's the jeers
Maybe it's time to find another game
Maybe it's time to leave

Tom,
You came into our lives for a short time.
Like a butterfly flitting from place to place,
You seemed hesitant to touch down and stay
I hope there are horses for you to ride in heaven
I wish we could have said goodbye
We will all miss you
See you on the other side
Shalom my friend,
Charlie

"Courage is resistance to fear, mastery of fear, not absence of fear."
Mark Twain

In other words, in the words of Arthur Lynch Williams: "Just do it."

Shalom, Y'all
