NOW THAT I'M OLDER
I have finally learned:
All the best things in life, the things worth grasping, lie beyond the fields of struggle.

NOW THAT I'M OLDER
I've discovered that: The only time the world beats a path to my door is when I'm in the shower!

LIVING HISTORY
Our favorite seventeen year old called. She wanted to talk to "Poppy". (That's me.)
Her high school history class is involved in a project where each student must interview an older person who was alive during a historically significant event and record the interview.
She chose me.
Am I that old?
I don't feel like it! (Well, sometimes when my arthritis .......................)
We talked for a long time. Her boyfriend called and she made him wait 'til we had finished.
I am so blessed.

FAVORITE TEN YEAR OLD
It is my practice, when I get a hug from our favorite ten year old, to kiss her on the top of her little blonde head, or on her cheek.
Today after church She and Memaw went to a restaurant for lunch before they began a shopping trip to buy fabric suitable for a court jester costume.
I joined them. What a joy to sit there next to her during that very special time.
Later, while I sorted through old "stuff" in our office, the girls worked on the costume.
Just before she was to go, the two of us toured the garden, she learned how to turn on the pump and set the sprinklers, and the ice cream man drove up.
You know what happened next!
She sat on the floor and consumed her treat while I worked at my desk, and we enjoyed just being together.
When it was time for Memaw to take her home she came up to me, gave me a hug, kissed ME on the cheek, told me she loved me and away they went.
Who can explain the total, complete love of a child, a puppy dog, or our Saviour?
What a blessed day!

Shalom, Y'all

NOW THAT I"M OLDER

Grant me the senility to forget the people I never liked anyway, the good fortune to run into the ones I do, and the eyesight to tell the difference.

Drink the cup
"You cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of devils
You cannot be partakers of the Lord's table, and the table of devils.

SOME DAYS

Some days I'm a dog, some days I'm a hydrant.
Wonder which I'll be today?
