A PURITAN QUOTE

The winter prepares the earth for the spring, so do afflictions sanctified prepare the soul for glory.

Too many deer?

Environmentalist wackos are anti-everything.
Don't hunt animals, don't drive a big safe car, whatever.

Friday night my second cousin was driving to visit a friend.
An oncoming car hit a deer.
The deer came through the windshield and killed my cousin!

Her mom and dad are missionaries in South Africa.
In the last three years they have "lost" two mothers and a father, now a daughter.

If there are too many deer, which in many places there are, control the population by hunting them during the appropriate season!

It is our job!

"And God blessed them, and God said to them, be fruitful and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion ofer the fish of the sea, and over the fowel of the air, and every living thing that moveth upon the earth."

Genesis 1:28 (KJV)

Please pray for Dennis and Linda and their son in law.

My favorite 13 year old checks in on Food for Thought from time to time.
Her one comment was; "Its so random."
My answer? "Exactly."

Deep in unfathomable mines
Of never failing skill
He treasures up His bright designs
And works HIs soverign will

Judge not the Lord by feeble sense,
But trust him for his grace;
Behind a frowning providence
He hides a smiling face

His purpose will ripen fast,
Unfolding every hour;
The bud may have a bitter taste,
But sweet will be the flower.

Blind unbelief is sure to err,
And scan his work in vain:
God is his own interpreter,
And he will make it plain.

Sometimes WE think we have it tough. Especially if the cars has a flat tire or some other inconsequential thing happens in our life.
